Iron Hands
There is weakness in the flesh - there is strength in the machine
The Iron Hands are one of the original First Founding Legions, and their Primarch Ferrus Manus taught them that the true strength of man lies in cold steel and the perfect machine. When Ferrus Manus fell in the massacre of Isstvan V, his Legion was not broken, it was transformed. The Iron Hands abandoned the remnants of humanity and embraced the supremacy of iron, machine, and logic.
They have no compassion or weakness, and they are not afraid to replace flesh with machine. Each Iron Hand warrior is partially cybernetic, and their armor and implants are as advanced as the creations of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Their brotherhood is founded on the perfection of the machine, and they despise anything that resembles the limitations of humanity.
From a gaming perspective:
- Gameplay Style: A durable and technologically focused Space Marine chapter, with excellent armor support.
- Strengths: Exceptional durability, mechanical reliability, strong use of vehicle and droid support.
- Challenges: Less mobility and melee-focused, not as versatile as some other chapters.
- Suitable for the player: Anyone who wants to play with a heavy, mechanically perfect army where nothing stops until the enemy is destroyed.
Features on the table:
- Chapter Tactic: The Flesh is Weak. Reduces damage taken by units and improves durability.
- Special units such as Ironclad Dreadnoughts, Techmarines, and Relic Contemptor Dreadnoughts.
- Heroes like Iron Father Feirros, who perfectly combines the roles of priest, engineer, and warlord.
- Emphasis on vehicles, cybernetic units, and sustained firepower.
Painting and collecting:
Iron Hands' iconic black armor, silver mechanical limbs and red lenses create a dark, metallic look. Small details like mechanical wires, implants and symbols of machine worship give each model its own cold personality. Weather effects, oil splatters and metallic sheen perfectly highlight their machine-centric philosophy.
